It'd just be nice to actually have a working iPod, instead of spending a couple of hundred dollars to buy a brand new one. If anyone has had this problem and can help us out, it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping that this is a fixable problem, and that it won't be too difficult. Then I set the iPod into "Disk Mode" and connected it to my computer. I followed the steps of recharging and restarting the iPod. I went onto the support section on, and I attempted a reformat of her iPod. The iPod turns on, and seems like its starting, and then the Folder icon with exclamation mark comes up. 5 months later, this iPod she has now, stops working. They didn't know what was wrong and replaced it with what they said was a "new" iPod 20GB free of charge. After having it for a year, she had this problem, and went to Apple to talk to the people at the Genius Bar. She has a 20GB iPod (not sure what generation). I'm trying to do this for my girlfriend, and she is really upset about her problem.
